Gráinne Brady
"Oak"

Cavan musician and songwriter Gráinne Brady follows recent single ‘The Highest Blossom’ with ‘Oak’, another beautifully understated glimpse into her forthcoming contemporary folk project. Drawing on memory, landscape and the small details of everyday life, Brady’s songwriting sits naturally alongside her roots in Irish traditional music, with a run of intimate shows across England and Scotland this summer bringing the new material to the stage.
‘Oak’ was co-written with acclaimed Scottish songwriter Findlay Napier and produced by legendary songwriter and producer Boo Hewerdine. Best known for his long association with Eddi Reader, including writing her hit ‘Patience of Angels’ and producing the folk classic Sings the Songs of Robert Burns, Hewerdine has also written for the likes of Sia, k.d. lang and Kris Drever, bringing decades of songwriting craft to Brady’s assured new material.
