Yvonne Lyon

Yvonne Lyon is a prominent Scottish singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and educator recognized for her poignant acoustic folk-pop melodies, fragile yet intense vocals, and narrative-driven lyricism. Grounded in Glasgow and currently based in Greenock, Scotland, her decades-long musical path bridges indie roots-rock origins with deeply collaborative contemporary folk projects. Lyon first emerged onto the Scottish music landscape in 1997 as a core member of the Glasgow-based indie/folk-rock outfit Land, with whom she recorded three studio albums. Following the band's dissolution, she launched her independent solo career in 2001 under her maiden name, Yvonne Whitty. Her 2002 debut solo album, Horizon Searching, established her signature sonic architecture—blending traditional folk elements with commercial indie-pop hooks.
