| Bio: | Formed by school friends Cheryl Parker and Jo Youle, Scarlet began their musical journey in Hull before moving to London to pursue a recording career. The duo established a distinct identity in the 1990s UK music scene by blending melodic indie-pop with alternative rock, driven by Parker’s powerful vocals and Youle’s prominent piano arrangements. After signing with Haven Records, they debuted with the single "Piccadilly in the Rain (I'll Be There)" and followed up with "Shine On Me Now" in 1992. Their mainstream breakthrough arrived in early 1995 with the release of the anthemic single "Independent Love Song," which peaked at Number 12 on the UK Singles Chart and gained international rotation. |
